Rapid Weight Loss - Is It Safe?

Usually when people are interested in losing weight, they are eager to do so quickly. Often times desiring to lose significant weight in a short period of time.
The truth is that a weight-loss regimen that results in very fast weight loss can be a huge motivator for an individual to keep making the effort and see more and more resultsIt's always discouraging to spend hours at the gym, then eating tiny portions of food that you can't stand day after day, only to see the scale drop just one pound for the entire week.
When you see real results in a relatively short period of time you will become more motivated and this can create a domino-effect that keeps going and going and going.
The issue that many face is that they fall for the new shiny fad diet and go to extremes in overly strenuous exercises and ridiculously restrictive dieting. This is not a safe way to lose weight and to lose it permanently
It is important to understand the needs of the human body and to provide for those needs in proper proportion.

What Your Body Really Needs

Our bodies need nutrients, vitamins, minerals and water for good health and proper functioning. Now there are some nutrients that the body cannot produce on it's own and so it is essential that you get these types of nutrients from the food you eat.
Some examples of essential nutrients are water, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals.
It is important to increase the intake of nutrients that we need while restricting those that we do not. Really, it is all about eating the right foods in the right quantities at the right time. When this is done the body will begin to burn fat at quite a rapid rate and will do so safely.
The key here is to ensure that the body is getting the proper nutrients that are needed but not in excess and not at inopportune times in the day. Healthy eating coupled with moderate exercise (which is also good for the body), will result in rapid weight loss. This approach is wise because unlike crash-diets this approach can actually be sustained and it should be sustained for continued good health.
So, is rapid weight loss safe? The answer is; it depends on how you approach losing weight. Instead of depriving your body of essential nutrients all in your quest for that fabulous beach bod you need to provide all the nutrients that your body needs in healthy proportions.
